im’ not sure how to word my resume or job apps. since 2005 my work history has been horrible. in the last 2 years i have been through 3 child custody cases and i know have custody of my son. however i have had to quit jobs due to the custody cases and also have had to report 3 sexual molestation cases with my son. my employers have given me a choice my job or my son. i know my son is more important to me than my financial well being. i now have full custody and the visistation with the other parent is now supervised (thats where the abuse occured) so he’s safe. i have applied at jobs that i am way over qualified but they take one look at my history and i never get to the interview any ideas?
Employment gaps and reasons for leaving are always the hardest to explain.
For each lost job you could put "Job ended due to family crisis, resolved as of (enter month & year here)." This tells the employer that there are no more issues.
I also suggest listing your skills and education before your work experience so the potential employer will see these first.
how do i word my resumes employment gaps?

Well that is sad. We can’t blame employers who would choose a somebody they hope to train and stay. It is very costly for an organization to handle staff turn-overs. The first thing that will tell them if an applicant will stay is usually presented on a one page paper that obviously do not benefit you well despite the valid reasons.
there’s no best way but to persevere with your applications. Pray to get an interview so you can showcase your skills and try to convince the employer that there is so much more you can offer their company that goes beyond the gaps on your resume. Make them believe that there’s only one way for them to validate your claims and that is only if they hire you.
