I don’t know why orientation is supposed to take half a day
what did you have to do?
Watch a video on safety procedures. (How to clean up messes, etc.) Store policies and procedures. Filling out paperwork (like W4s). Sometimes meeting the other people who are new. Store tour.
I begin work tomorrow at Target in the backroom. My orientation is tomorrow, any ideas how long I will be there for?
Congrats on being hired! Yay! Orientations usually last several hours. They’ll go over company policies, rules and regulations, what to expect, safety procedures…really just basic stuff. Your first day will be the easiest. Sometimes they only last 2 hours and sometimes they last 5 or 6 hours because they will let everyone have a "lunch break" to get something to eat. Make sure you get enough sleep tonight so you won’t be nodding off in orientation and make sure you eat before you go in because you won’t know how long you’ll be there. Also take your id and social security card.

I have this high school orientation a few days away, but I’m not sure if I’m able to go. If I miss it, do they send me the assignments and whatever for the summer? Is it a big deal?
I don’t know about your situation but, I missed out on chances to sign up for extracurricular activities and important information.
I was wondering when most orientations are. My college classes start this upcoming summer, on June 28th. I was wondering how many months ahead colleges schedule their orientation. Any help would be appreciated.
Most colleges schedule their orientation just a few days before orientation since they know that many students have to travel and that many live in dorms./
Going to my orientation tomorrow morning. It’s going to be about 8 hours long . Just wondering if I need dress up in a dress shirt and tie or can i just dress in a polo and jeans?
Will I need to do presentations answer questions etc?
Oh, please, no jeans! I’d suggest a shirt with collar and neat slacks as a minimum. A dress sweater might be a good idea if you don’t want to wear a jacket.
I just got a job at Shaws supermarket and I have to go in for orientation tomorrow. They said it would be about 3 hours and I just want to know what we’re going to be doing.
Probably be showing you some videos and filling out paperwork.
Also you might meet some of the other employees and get shown where you work and what you are going to be doing.
My orientation is in a few days and the temp is gonna be in the high 70s-low 80s
Dress anything you want, but must be appropriate. If the weather on the day of orientation is hot and humid – wear like a t-shirt.
I’m going from a tiny private school that I went to most of my life to a big public high school and I only know one person there. What do you usually do at freshmen orientation? Do you need to bring your bag, or any books and stuff?
basically you get together with all the kids in your grade (those that choose to attend) and you get your school schedule. they talk to you about rules and expectations. counselors talk about graduation credits and other stuff. then they take you on a tour of your school. you go to your locker and they might let you try the combination a few times so you can get used to it. then they take you to you to the classrooms of all the core classes, so they will take you to the english department, math, science, and history. they will give you an opportunity to ask questions and that’s about it. you usually dont need to bring anything.
i already dressed up for my application turn in, and for my interview, and he hired me and asked me to come in later today for an orientation. what should i wear?
wear the clothes that are at the store like if ur gonna work at A&F wear their clothes
I’m going to be starting my first job fairly soon at a grocery store and I have orientation today. Does anyone know if I get my work schedule while I’m at orientation??? Thanks guys!
you should receive it at orientation if they have it ready to look at. If they don’t give it to you, then just ask when you will be getting it,
Good luck on your first day! and congrats on the new job!
