Every religious texts are subject to inconsistencies because they are written by man, and then rewritten and translated. but even if you choose to avoid that as a good explanations then look at in this way.

When God breathed life into us he also gave us all the same free will, free will to choose him or to denial him. to love him or to love ourselves… In this "One" act he has both placed us above all creations and condemned us to.

Do not see a persons sexual preference as an issue but see all people as individuals that have their own struggles, even you. Mine is food, I believe there is a sin for that one to.

I find homophobes rather frustrating, to be honest. I do encounter them often, living in a traditionally macho society whose attitudes are permeated by those of older generations, mainly because of peer pressure. I behave towards them normally, only expressing my opinion on the matter, but letting it rest when I know it is a lost fight from the start. I am not out to most people, so they behave normally towards me as well.
Since I used to be quite religious, I do get where they are coming from.

The majority of the time, it seems to be the opposite (men are afraid of homosexual men, etc.) especially if they think they are going to "catch it" (though it’s rare to find people who think that).

Why would a woman be afraid of a homosexual man (etc.)? Competition is not the answer (just think about it for a second) – it would have to be simple acquired prejudice. Same reason she might be afraid of a black man or a teenager. I don’t think this is a specific type of homophobia (I hate to use that word; it’s not a real phobia), it is just a general human out-group response.

It is an unsafe place for gay people. The same thing is true for other countries in the Middle East.

Teens as young as 14 have been publicly executed for having consensual gay sex. It’s not even safe for heterosexual boys who experiment.
